Job summary

This contract position is primarily remote with periodic onsite meetings in Phoenix. The ideal candidate has 3–5+ years as a Scrum Master in software development, and comfort working in tax/fintech environments with strong stakeholder management and governance

Qualifications

• 10+ years in large, complex system implementations (tax/financial preferred).
• 3–5+ years as Scrum Master in software development.
• Experience transitioning teams from Waterfall to Agile.
• Experience handling dependencies in multi-phase enterprise projects.
• Strong Scrum/Agile knowledge and communication skills.
• Ability to operate in governance and regulatory contexts.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives, backlog refinement).
• Coach and act as change agent to move from Waterfall to Agile.
• Mentor teams on Agile principles and Scrum practices.
• Support Agile teams in planning, prioritizing, delivering work against objectives.
• Identify and remove impediments affecting delivery and timelines.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, stakeholders, and vendors.
• Manage dependencies in a large, multi-phase enterprise implementation.
• Promote Agile practices while adhering to governance and compliance.
• Track progress, risks, dependencies, and communicate updates to leadership.
• Partner with Product Owner on backlog refinement and requirements.
• Encourage continuous improvement and accountability.
• Assist teams with organizational change while following controls.
