Colorado Department of Education is seeking a School Finance Data Analyst to strengthen the accuracy, transparency, and reliability of financial reporting for Colorado school districts. You will analyze data, manage financial reporting processes, and support decisions impacting student funding.

In this role, you will collaborate with districts, oversee audits, and contribute to statewide financial reporting initiatives within a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; relevant experience may substitute per state rules.
• Experience in governmental accounting or public sector financial reporting preferred.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to analyze complex datasets.
• Ability to communicate financial information to non-financial audiences.

Responsibilities

• Support the annual Finance December data collection including review, validation, reconciliation, analysis, and QA of financial information.
• Collaborate with district financial staff to resolve data errors and ensure accurate reporting.
• Maintain financial datasets, edits, and reporting materials for statewide collections.
• Prepare statewide and district-level reports and respond to data requests from stakeholders.
• Provide training and guidance on Finance December, COA, and financial reporting requirements.
