Job summary

ProCare Therapy seeks a Remote School-Based Special Education Teacher/Intervention Specialist in Ohio to deliver high-quality virtual SPED instruction aligned with IEPs. The role emphasizes collaboration with general education staff, families, and other professionals to support student progress in a remote setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Special Education or related field from an accredited program.
• Active Ohio SPED license/credential or ability to obtain one.
• OH Intervention Specialist licensure preferred or required per district.
• Minimum 12 years of special education and/or school-based teaching experience.
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs.
• Strong understanding of Ohio SPED requirements and practices.
• Experience with virtual instruction or teletherapy platforms a plus.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• Comfortable using virtual platforms, educational technology, and digital resources.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality virtual special education instruction and support to students.
• Provide small-group and/or individual instruction as outlined by the student's IEP.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on academic and behavioral data.
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, reevaluations, and other special education team meetings.
• Track student progress toward IEP goals and maintain appropriate documentation.
• Maintain accurate and timely student records and progress documentation.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, families, and other members of the student's educational team.
• Communicate effectively with school staff regarding student progress, needs, accommodations, and services.
• Participate in virtual team meetings and professional development as required.
• Build positive relationships with students, families, and school personnel.
• Work collaboratively to ensure students receive consistent and appropriate educational support.
• Maintain accurate documentation related to instruction, student progress, IEP services, and compliance.
• Ensure services are delivered in accordance with student IEPs and district expectations.
• Maintain student confidentiality and adhere to professional and ethical standards.
• Complete required progress reports, evaluations, and other documentation.
• Utilize virtual learning platforms to provide engaging online instruction.
• Use digital instructional tools and resources to support student learning and engagement.
• Ensure a professional and appropriate virtual learning environment.
• Advocate for appropriate educational services, accommodations, and supports for students with disabilities.
• Maintain professionalism in all interactions with students, families, and school staff.
• Stay current with SPED practices and Ohio requirements.
