Job summary

Jack Henry & Associates, Inc. is hiring a Software Engineer to build and scale backend services powering our Open API and digital banking products.

This remote-friendly role can be done from anywhere in the United States except California, with occasional on-site onboarding or interviews as needed. You will work with Scala, Postgres, Kafka, Docker and Kubernetes in a microservices stack, collaborating with teams to deliver secure, reliable services that meet evolving banking requirements.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of programming experience, including Scala.
• At least 1 year maintaining cloud-native systems and microservices.
• Experience with CI pipelines, observability/monitoring, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Self-motivation and ability to work independently.
• On-call rotation every 5 weeks

Responsibilities

• Build, test, deploy, maintain, and scale backend services in a micro-services architecture using Scala, Postgres, Kafka, and more.
• Work with engineering teams to identify needs, plan work, and deliver solutions aligned with product development.
• Develop deep understanding of banking-related domains and their impact on products.
• Collaborate with customer support to diagnose defects and issues.
• May perform other job duties as assigned.
