Job summary

United Federal Credit Union is seeking an experienced SBA Underwriter to evaluate SBA lending opportunities and support sound credit decision-making.

In this role you will analyze loan requests, review financial statements and tax returns, build cash flow models, ensure compliance with SBA requirements and UFCU policies, and collaborate with SBA Business Development Officers to deliver timely credit recommendations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum of two years of SBA underwriting experience.
• Strong financial analysis, credit underwriting, and cash flow modeling skills.
• Experience analyzing business financial statements and tax returns.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate SBA loan requests and provide credit recommendations.
• Review financial statements, tax returns, and supporting docs.
• Build and evaluate cash flow models.
• Ensure SBA and UFCU policies are followed.
• Review third-party due diligence reports.
• Partner with SBA Business Development Officers and lending colleagues.
• Communicate credit decisions clearly and prepare modifications.
• Maintain knowledge of SBA programs and underwriting best practices.
• Contribute to process improvements and special projects.
• Participate in ongoing training and development.
