Rise Collective, a remote-first company in the U.S., seeks a Sales Tax Compliance Specialist (remote US, Tampa preference) to own tax accounts for short-term rental properties. You will file returns, onboard properties, and keep all jurisdictions current, working with homeowners and our accounting team.

You will lead registrations, filings, and reconciliations across many jurisdictions, ensuring accurate records and timely remittance. This is a high-ownership, detail-oriented role.

Qualifications

• Experience preparing, filing, and remitting sales tax returns for clients or portfolios.
• Ability to manage a high-volume portfolio of tax accounts across jurisdictions.
• Strong understanding of sales tax nexus and taxable transactions.
• Experience with lodging tax HOT or related occupancy taxes is a plus.
• Ability to liaise with state and local revenue offices and homeowners.

Responsabilités

• Registrations: add/remove properties, maintain registrations and accounts.
• Filing: prepare and file returns monthly/quarterly/annually across jurisdictions.
• Reconciliation: review tax reports; ensure filings and remittances are accurate.
• OTA compliance: audit collection/remittance for platforms like Airbnb and Vrbo.
• Systems: maintain calendar, notices, documentation, and stakeholder communications.
• Discrepancy resolution: research and fix tax collection or filing issues.
