Job summary

Simple Solutions is seeking a Dedicated Support Engineer (DSE) / Rocky Linux Consultant for a 6-month advisory engagement. The role is 100% remote, with a commitment of 8 hours per week, and carries no hands-on system administration.

You will serve as a subject matter expert for Rocky Linux environments, focusing on architecture guidance and performance optimization, delivering written recommendations and KPI reporting.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Rocky Linux (mandatory).
• Solid knowledge of Rocky Linux OS internals and administration concepts.
• Understanding of compute, storage, and networking fundamentals.
• Experience with Linux performance and stability analysis.
• Knowledge of patching, security hardening, and OS lifecycle management on RockyLinux.
• Ability to produce clear technical recommendations and documentation.
• Strong customer-facing communication and advisory skills.
• Senior-level experience in enterprise infrastructure environments.

Responsibilities

• Assess Rocky Linux environments and identify optimization opportunities.
• Provide recommendations for compute, storage, and network configurations on RockyLinux platforms.
• Analyze the client system and storage performance and suggest Rocky Linux tuning strategies.
• Advise on capacity planning and resource utilization for Rocky Linux systems.
• Recommend operational best practices and incident prevention strategies.
• Guide on automation and workflow optimization in Rocky Linux environments.
• Provide patch management, security hardening, and OS lifecycle planning guidance for Rocky Linux.
• Review documentation and deliver knowledge transfer sessions.
• Prepare written recommendation reports and KPI tracking.
• Participate in regular customer advisory and review sessions.
• No hands-on configuration or remediation.
• No system administration or production changes.
• No staff augmentation or 24/7 operational support.
