Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for a Physician Practice in a remote capacity. The role supports ambulatory care, performs triage, and collaborates with physicians and staff to ensure safe, efficient patient care.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, administering medications, education, and care coordination within an ambulatory clinic setting. Requires ADN with RN licensure, BLS, and 1–2 years of ambulatory experience; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• ADN required; BSN preferred.
• 1–2 years ambulatory, clinic, or medical-surgical nursing experience preferred.
• Current state RN license required; NCLEX-RN passed; BLS required; AMB-BC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and perform triage in person and by phone.
• Assist physicians with examinations and procedures.
• Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments.
• Provide patient education and self-management support.
• Coordinate referrals, follow-up, and continuity of care.
• Manage patient messages and results within scope.
• Support population health outreach and preventive care.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and stocked clinical environment.
• Document care in the electronic health record.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
