Job summary

AtomicVest Inc. is seeking a Risk Manager to build the risk function across its regulated entities, including a FINRA broker-dealer and SEC-registered investment adviser. You will report to leadership and design the framework, policies, metrics, and reporting the company will rely on as it scales.

The role is fully remote for US or LATAM-based candidates; you will collaborate with Finance, Compliance, Legal, Operations and Engineering to implement robust controls and risk reporting for growth.

Qualifications

• Experience in risk management, internal controls, or related function.
• Experience in fintech, banking, brokerage, or RIA environments.

Responsibilities

• Build the risk management function as the initial hire with an enterprise risk framework, appetite, and policies for a multi-entity fintech.
• Monitor broker-dealer financial risks including net capital, liquidity, and clearing exposures.
• Assess and monitor bank and counterparty risk, including banks in cash sweep, clearing firms, and key vendors with KRIs.
• Run periodic enterprise risk assessments across broker-dealer, RIA, and technology entities; maintain risk register.
• Create and maintain a risk and control matrix; design preventive and detective controls and KRIs.
• Own central incident and issue log; perform root-cause analysis and track remediation to closure.
• Review new products, entities, and markets for risk; implement controls as needed.
• Build controls for planned self-clearing and ATS lines; compute reserves, monitor net capital, handle Reg ATS obligations for FINRA.
• Prepare risk reporting for senior management and Risk Committee.
• Support audits and regulatory examinations by coordinating risk requests and responses.
• Maintain the business continuity plan (FINRA Rule 4370) and run tabletop exercises with Technology.
• Collaborate with Finance, Compliance, Legal, Operations, and Engineering leadership.
