Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Risk Data Scientist for a remote role in the Finance & Insurance sector. You will shape quantitative approaches to improve risk decision-making, support profitable growth, and strengthen model governance in a highly regulated environment.

You will work with large structured and unstructured datasets, applying advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI to solve complex business problems. You will mentor junior researchers and communicate insights to leaders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with six years of experience in a quantitative, analytical, or STEM field, or Master's with four years of experience in the same areas, or Ph.D. with four years of experience.
• Two years of hands-on experience with Big Data technologies like Hadoop, Hive, or Spark.
• Three years of experience with statistical and predictive modeling concepts, including machine learning.
• Three years of programming experience analyzing large datasets using SAS, Python, or R.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and guide junior risk data scientists
• Plan and manage multiple concurrent projects
• Leverage advanced quantitative solutions to solve complex business problems
• Work with large structured and unstructured datasets
• Use analytical techniques to drive profitable growth and mitigate risk
• Conduct research to evaluate quantitative solutions
• Build machine learning and AI models from development to validation
• Design data visualizations to communicate insights to business leaders
• Communicate outcomes and solutions to senior leaders and external auditors
• Oversee all phases of the model lifecycle, ensuring effective implementation and monitoring
