Job summary

O.R. Colan Associates, LLC is seeking a Right of Way Agent in Charlotte, NC with a home-office option. The role requires maintaining ROW records, negotiating parcels, and supporting acquisition processes for NC projects, with travel ~25% statewide.

You must hold an active North Carolina Real Estate license (and notary or ability to obtain within 60 days), be proficient with MS Office, hold a valid driver's license, and reside within 25 miles of Charlotte. Comprehensive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina Real Estate license
• Active North Carolina Notary or ability to obtain within 60 days
• Proficient with MS Office Suite — Excel, Word, Outlook
• Smartphone to access ORC systems
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

Responsibilities

• Provide land acquisition services throughout the right-of-way lifecycle in compliance with project guidelines and regulations
• Review, read, interpret and correct title takeoffs, construction plans, and ROW documents; prepare and submit Claims Reports
• Deliver property rights documents to owners and representatives; negotiate and secure parcels through approved counteroffers
• Maintain contact documentation, conduct final title checks, and manage back taxes
• Submit and track offer letters, counteroffers, and Releases of Damages; attend field reviews and provide weekly status reports
• Handle administrative tasks including mailing notifications, filing deeds, verifying condemnation parcel addresses, and organizing acquisition packets
• Submit vendor forms to expedite payments and support efficient project closeout
