Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Temple, TX is seeking a Pharmacy Technician 2 to assist in distributing medications and maintaining a specialized area while aiding in pharmaceutical care under a pharmacist preceptor.

Applicants should be able to work independently and with the team, handling medication orders, inventory, and adherence to regulatory standards; strong attention to detail is essential.

Qualifications

• Education - HS Diploma/GED Equivalent.
• Experience - 1 Year of Experience.
• Certification/License - TX Board of Pharmacy eligible options: Registered Pharmacy Intern (RPH-INT) or Pharmacy Technician (PHT).

Responsibilities

• Maintains a specialized area of responsibility including purchasing, receiving, auditing, compounding, billing, informatics, medication reconciliation, licensing, contracting, and marketing.
• Enter medication orders from doctors' sheets or prescriptions and ensure correct product, dosage form, and charge data.
• Complete paperwork to ensure payment for and delivery of pharmacy supplies; monitor lost charges.
• Order supplies daily and coordinate returns for credit when pharmaceuticals have expired.
• Coordinate the Drug Recall Process and maintain a clean, stocked work environment.
• Compound or admix ingredients for dispensing under pharmacist supervision; perform IV admixtures per regulatory standards.
• Assist patients and medical staff with questions under a pharmacist preceptor's supervision; deliver medications to patients and carts to floors.
