Job summary

The University of Alabama is seeking a Research Project Coordinator to support the Alabama Water Institute CONSERVE group. The role involves fieldwork, GIS mapping, and coordination across internal and external contacts. You may supervise students and assist in developing additional projects.

Responsibilities include data collection, project promotion, and collaboration with tribal and partner organizations in Tahlequah, OK. Remote work is allowed under university policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher required; project coordination experience preferred.
• Must have valid US driver’s license and meet MVR requirements.
• Strong GIS data handling and field data collection skills required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct fieldwork for rivercane population genetics sampling.
• Create GIS maps of population inventory and characteristics.
• Take detailed ecological notes and data under project leadership.
• Support data collection with UA’s grant partners at Tahlequah study sites.
