Job summary

Purdue University is seeking a Research Account Specialist, Chemistry to support faculty from proposal submission through post-award management. This primarily remote role collaborates across the university to ensure research projects stay compliant, funded, and positioned for success.

Responsibilities include budget projections, reporting, and liaison work with sponsors, subcontractors, and internal offices.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum of 1 year of account or financial management experience.
Ability to interpret and apply university policies and procedures.
Experience with SAP or similar financial systems.

Responsibilities

Expedite research proposal processing from submission to post-award.
Promote investigator team communications and assist in resolving issues.
In coordination with the Business Manager, prepare budget projections and coordinate reporting processes.
Maintain fiscal and administrative controls to ensure funds are expended per policies and procedures.
Serve as liaison with participants, sponsors, subcontractors and other University offices.
Assist with answering key operational questions on behalf of the PI.
Work with PIs to manage grant activities including expenditure/budget reviews, invoices, audits, monitoring accounts, and preparing financial reports.
Coordinate with faculty; organize risk analysis sessions; perform statistical analysis; plan timelines; provide timely reports to PIs and sponsors; plan for award management.
