Job summary

RTI International, a leading independent research organization, seeks a Research Economist to lead evaluation and analysis of health care delivery policies. You will work with large health datasets, design analyses, and publish findings to inform Medicare/Medicaid policy.

The role offers remote work within the United States or based in RTP, NC, with opportunities to lead proposals, manage budgets, and mentor staff in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s with 6+ years in quantitative research.
• Lead or substantially contribute to applied quantitative research.
• Expertise in micro-econometrics, simulation, and program evaluation.
• Apply causal and statistical inference to real-world policy questions.
• Communicate complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
• Experience with multidisciplinary teams and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead or contribute to quantitative research on health policy topics.
• Design and supervise analysis of large datasets.
• Translate findings into actionable insights for policy and clients.
• Ensure high quality and timely deliverables.
• Develop budgets, timelines, and plans for projects.
• Supervise research staff and coordinate tasks.
• Negotiate work plans and results with clients.
• Contribute to technical proposals and methods.
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
• Maintain expertise in health care policy and data sources.
