Job summary

Whatnot is seeking a Research Associate to drive strategic decisions by conducting rigorous studies, analyzing data, and delivering actionable insights across product, trust & risk, and operations. You will partner with cross‑functional teams to understand user behavior, seller and buyer needs, and inform roadmap decisions in a fast-growing marketplace.

You will design research plans, run studies, and translate findings into clear reports and visuals.

Qualifications

Experience designing and conducting qualitative and quantitative research.
Ability to translate findings into actionable product insights.
Proficiency with Excel and data visualization/analysis tools.
Strong written/verbal communication and project management.
Familiarity with AI-assisted research and e-commerce dynamics.

Responsibilities

Lead design and execution of research initiatives (surveys, interviews, market studies).
Collect and analyze data to interpret trends and inform decisions.
Create clear reports, visualizations, and presentations for stakeholders.
Collaborate with Trust & Risk, Product, and Operations to drive impact.
Conduct literature reviews to contextualize findings.
Develop research plans, measurement frameworks, and retrospectives.
Ensure ethical standards and data integrity in research.
Own projects end-to-end with initiative and quality.
