Job summary

The British Medical Association (BMA) is seeking Representation and Casework Officers to support its members across England. The role is home-based with travel within the region, reporting to a Senior Regional Officer, and requires proximity to the designated region or relocation at personal expense.

You will provide expert advice on employment law, prepare cases, maintain records, and collaborate with employers and unions while mentoring local representatives and contributing to regional

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of employment law and industrial relations.
• Ability to advise on contracts and HR policies.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on employment law, contracts and workplace issues.
• Manage allocated casework and represent members at meetings and hearings.
• Maintain accurate case records and prepare documentation for referrals.
• Build relationships with employers, medical schools and other unions.
• Support and mentor workplace representatives and local committees.
• Contribute to regional plans, campaigns and identify emerging issues.
• Apply up-to-date employment legislation knowledge to NHS doctors’ terms and conditions.
