Job summary

Matlen Silver is seeking a Release Manager for a 12-month contract with potential conversion. Role is fully remote in the United States.

The candidate will own the release calendar and coordinate across development, QA, UAT and production, ensuring compliance and audit readiness. You will run go/no-go meetings, manage release pipelines in Azure DevOps, and drive improvements in automation and deployment frequency.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in release management, build and release engineering, or DevOps in an enterprise environment.
• Hands-on Azure DevOps experience, including multi-stage pipelines, release gates, approvals and branching strategies.
• Experience releasing .NET applications to Azure.
• A strong grasp of ITIL change management and CAB processes.
• Experience in regulated industries such as financial services, federal or government, or healthcare.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills across distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the release calendar across development, QA, UAT and production.
• Run go/no-go meetings, release readiness reviews and post-release retrospectives.
• Manage release pipelines and approvals in Azure DevOps with dev/ops.
• Coordinate change management including CAB approvals and maintenance windows.
• Ensure releases meet security, compliance and audit requirements before proceeding.
• Track scope, dependencies and risks and report status to stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement in release automation and deployment frequency.
• Maintain release documentation including release notes and runbooks.
