Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field with four years’ experience.
• Master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or other business-related field with two years experience.
• Computer skills including spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and Internet.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and non-routine tasks requiring in-depth analysis and identifies alternatives and recommends plans.
• Performs or reviews reimbursement processes (reconciliation of third-party G/L accounts, calculation of actual and budgeted contractual allowances and variances).
• Prepares monthly Medicare and Medicaid settlement and policy reserve calculations.
• Prepares or reviews cost reports and surveys, reviews audit adjustments and settlements, and files appeals and exception requests to maximize reimbursement.
• Acts as a mentor and may coordinate, train, and review staff in reimbursement functions.
• Stays current on laws and regulations related to reimbursement and assesses impact on hospital operations.
• Manages scope and completion of work, meets deadlines, and documents procedures and standards.
• Investigates changes in reimbursement and communicates impacts to leadership for analysis.
• Is responsible for 2+ hospitals or 1+ hospital with Central Office assignments.
