Job summary

The State Board of Cosmetology and Barber Examiners is seeking a Regulatory Inspector to join the Division of Professional Registration. Successful candidates will analyze statutes and regulations, communicate effectively, and manage priorities to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

1-2 years of experience in customer service; licensed professional in a regulated industry or related fields qualify.
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Knowledge of computer applications such as Adobe Acrobat Pro, Word, Outlook and Excel preferred.

Responsibilities

Schedule and conduct inspections of cosmetology and barber establishments to ensure compliance with state laws and regulations.
Verify licensure of professionals and businesses and review related documentation.
Prepare detailed reports of inspections and findings.
Testify at administrative or judicial proceedings regarding inspection procedures and findings.
Answer inquiries from licensees, students, consumers, public officials and the public.
Travel up to 95% of the time with minimal overnight travel.
