Job summary

The State of Missouri is seeking a Regulatory Inspector to join the Division of Professional Registration, State Board of Cosmetology and Barber Examiners. You will inspect establishments, verify licensure, and prepare detailed findings while traveling extensively to serve St.

Louis and surrounding areas. This role requires strong communication, report writing, and a solid understanding of applicable statutes and regulations.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in customer service or regulated industry, or related administrative/licensing experience.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat Pro, Word, Outlook and Excel preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and conduct inspections to ensure conformity with state laws, rules and regulations.
• Verify licensure of professionals and businesses and related documentation.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports.
• Testify at administrative or judicial proceedings regarding inspections.
• Receive and refer inquiries from licensees, students, the public and officials.
• Travel up to 95% of the time with significant day travel.
