Job summary

The State Board of Cosmetology and Barber Examiners, part of the Division of Professional Registration, seeks a Regulatory Inspector. You will identify and apply applicable statutes, plan and conduct inspections, and prepare clear inspection reports from a home office covering the St. Louis region.

This role requires the ability to testify in proceedings, manage inquiries from licensees and the public, and travel up to 95% of the time with minimal overnight travel.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience as a Customer Service Representative; licensed professional in a regulated industry or related areas qualify as relevant experience.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of computer applications such as Adobe Acrobat Pro, Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and conduct inspections of cosmetology and barber establishments and schools to ensure compliance with state laws, rules and regulations.
• Verify licensure of professionals and businesses and related documentation.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports.
