Job summary

Merck seeks a Regional Medical Scientific Director (RMSD), a credentialed therapeutic and disease expert (PhD/MD/PharmD) to engage in scientific exchange with Urology leaders across a remote US territory. The RMSD provides balanced information on non-product topics and answers scientific questions from Senior Leaders.

The role aligns with Scientific Exchange, Clinical Research, Congress Support, and Scientific Insights.

Qualifications

• Clinical or research experience in Oncology or Urology beyond training.
• Field-based medical science liaison (MSL) experience.
• 3+ years of therapeutic area experience in Oncology or Urology.
• Ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with key external stakeholders.
• Dedication to scientific excellence with strong education and dialogue.
• Business and market knowledge with stakeholder management skills.
• Solid understanding of FDA, OIG, HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
• Able to organize and adapt in a changing environment; travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with national/regional Urology SLs to share medical and scientific information.
• Conduct peer-to-peer scientific discussions and provide medical contact within the company.
• Address inquiries and route questions to appropriate resources per policy.
• Review HQ education and training to stay current with scientific and clinical trends.
• Engage in Scientific Congresses, staff exhibits and data exchange activities.
• Support Scientific Insights and Education programs aligned with GMSA strategy.
