Job summary

Merck is seeking a Regional Medical Scientific Director (RMSD) in the United States. The RMSD will engage with national and regional Scientific Leaders to provide non-product scientific information, support investigator-initiated studies, and lead scientific exchange across therapeutic areas such as malignant hematology and oncology.

Role includes protocol leadership, site initiation, and collaboration with Global Medical Affairs.

Qualifications

• PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO, or MD.
• Proven competence and a minimum of 3 years of relevant therapeutic area experience beyond that obtained in the terminal degree program.
• Ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with key external stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of FDA, OIG, HIPAA guidelines and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develops professional relationships with national and regional SLs to ensure access to approved medical information.
• Conducts peer-to-peer scientific discussions and maintains a reliable presence with SLs.
• Addresses scientific questions and directs inquiries to appropriate resources.
• Leads protocol discussions and Site Initiation visits with investigators as needed.
