Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking a Regional Medical Scientific Director to lead scientific exchange and research within Rheumatology and Dermatology Immunology.

This role interfaces with national and regional scientific leaders to share non-product medical information and advance company-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies. The candidate will liaise between the scientific community and Merck, model leadership for field medical teams, and ensure adherence to GMSA policies and regulatory

Qualifications

• PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO or MD required.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant therapeutic area experience beyond degree program.
• Ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with external stakeholders.
• Commitment to scientific excellence with education and dialogue.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and networking skills.
• Strong knowledge of FDA, OIG, HIPAA and regulatory guidelines in pharma.
• Ability to adapt in a changing environment.
• Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, OneNote.
• Familiarity with virtual meeting platforms.
• Aligned with GMSA SOPs, GCP and related policies.

Responsabilités

• Develops professional relationships with national and regional SLs to share approved medical and scientific information.
• Conducts peer-to-peer scientific discussions and maintains a medical contact within the company.
• Addresses SL inquiries about topics beyond the Regional Medical Scientific Director scope to appropriate resources.
• Keeps current knowledge of AOI in the therapeutic area.
• Initiates discussions with SLs or investigators for AOI alignment with research strategies.
• Enhances understanding of investigator-sponsored research goals and AOI foundations.
• Recommends study sites and investigators for phase II–IV programs; conducts Site Initiation Visits.
• Performs protocol lead responsibilities with GCTO and assists investigators with participation.
• Engages in scientific congresses and medical meetings to facilitate data exchange.
• Gathers feedback and data to understand medical needs and priorities of SLs and patients.
• Leads by example as a role model for workforce development.
