Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking a Regional Medical Scientific Director (MSL) in Inflammatory Bowel Disease Immunology to drive strategic priorities and engage with scientific leaders.

The role emphasizes scientific exchange, research collaboration, and adherence to GCP and SOPs while mentoring field medical teams. The position requires credentialed medical background (PhD/MD/etc.), extensive immunology expertise, and ability to travel up to 50% within the northern Texas territory.

Qualifications

• PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO, or MD required with credentialed medical affairs leadership experience.
• Three years of Immunology experience beyond training in terminal degree program.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with external stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of FDA, OIG, HIPAA, and other regulatory guidelines.
• Excellent stakeholder management and scientific/medical communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Engage in scientific exchange with national and regional Scientific Leaders to share approved medical information.
• Lead discussions on AOIs, protocols, and investigator-sponsored research under GMSA policies.
• Identify barriers to patient enrollment and support site initiation activities.
• Represent the company at scientific congresses and facilitate data exchange.
• Develop relationships, provide medical contacts within the company, and support strategic goals.
