Job summary

Stella-Jones seeks a Regional Health and Safety Manager to lead OSHA compliance across multiple manufacturing locations with up to 50% travel. This remote role is ideally based in Alabama, Mississippi, or Louisiana, supporting a continental North American safety program.

You will develop and implement safety training, collaborate with plant managers, and drive risk reduction. Prior manufacturing health & safety experience and a degree in a related field are required or highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of health and safety experience in manufacturing, industrial operations or a similar environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, environmental health and safety, or a related field (highly preferred).
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and manufacturing safety practices, with the ability to identify hazards, assess risks and implement effective controls.
• Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analyses, developing corrective actions, and supporting safety audits and regulatory inspections.
• Ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively with plant leaders, employees and other stakeholders; capable of delivering safety training and influencing safe work practices.
• Ability to work independently across multiple locations, manage competing priorities and travel regularly (up to 50%), including overnight travel.
• Experience in wood products industry a plus; CSP or CIH a plus

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical resource for OSHA compliance for multiple manufacturing locations.
• Assist with development and maintenance of Health, Safety and Security training programs, policies and procedures.
• Create and follow safety procedures that comply with state/local laws across sites.
• Collaborate with plant managers to implement controls reducing hazards.
• Assist with safety investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions.
• Represent facilities during regulatory, insurance, audits, and inspections.
• Conduct risk assessments to minimize incidents and losses.
• Support Worker’s Compensation processes as needed.
• May supervise exempt and/or non-exempt staff and participate in performance evaluations and trainings.
