The University of Wisconsin-Stout Polytechnic in Wisconsin is seeking a Regional First-Year Admissions Counselor for the Madison/Milwaukee area.

This 12-month annual role reports to the Assistant Director of Admissions-Recruitment and focuses on outreach to prospective students, families, high school counselors, alumni, and other partners to promote educational opportunities offered at UW-Stout Polytechnic.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (degree must be posted by hire date).
• Experience in admissions, recruiting, sales, education, or related fields.
• Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Excellent public speaking skills, including presenting to groups.
• 1 year of professional experience.
• Willingness to travel.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Identifies opportunities for and develops admissions and outreach events.
• Reviews, evaluates, and responds to student applications according to policies.
• Counsels prospective and admitted students on educational planning and career opportunities.
• May supervise staff or lead a program area.
• Identifies and maintains internal and external partnerships for outreach, recruitment, and admission.
• Engages in outreach and recruitment events representing the university.
• Delivers program messaging to internal and external audiences.
• Creates targeted communication plans and materials based on goals.
• Evaluates program effectiveness and provides recommendations.
