Job summary

The University of Wisconsin-Stout Polytechnic is seeking a Regional First-Year Admissions Counselor for the Madison/Milwaukee area. This 12-month, fully remote role reports to the Assistant Director of Admissions-Recruitment and requires travel up to 75% to engage with prospective students, families, counselors, and community partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required and posted by hire date.
• 1 year of professional experience.
• Experience in admissions, recruiting, sales, or related fields.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Excellent public speaking skills for groups.
• Willingness to travel and valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities for admissions and outreach events.
• Review and evaluate applications according to policies.
• Counsel students on educational planning and career opportunities.
• May supervise staff or lead a program area.
• Identify, promote, and maintain partnerships focusing on outreach, recruitment, and admission.
• Engage in extensive outreach and recruitment events, representing the university.
• Deliver admissions program messaging to internal and external audiences.
• Create targeted communication plans and materials based on goals.
• Evaluate program effectiveness and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Schedule logistics and secure resources for events to promote the Institution.
