Job summary

Latitude is seeking an experienced senior commercial attorney to lead the North America Legal Team on a 6‑month contract to permanent basis. This fully remote role requires 15+ years post‑qualification experience and strong leadership of a high‑functioning team, with a track record in complex government contracting and multi‑jurisdictional commercial deals.

Qualifications

• 15+ years post‑qualification experience with at least 5 years leading a high‑functioning team of commercial attorneys and contract professionals
• Substantial experience negotiating complex commercial transactions and drafting contracts
• Experience supporting environmental, infrastructure, engineering, energy, and sustainability projects
• Licensed to practice and in good standing in at least one US state bar
• Excellent academic credentials from a US‑accredited law school
• Experience contracting with all levels of government, especially the US government
• Strong commercial judgment and pragmatic problem‑solving
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills
• Demonstrable team building, people leadership and collaboration skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently in a fast‑paced global environment
• Must be located in Eastern or Central time zones

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the legal function in the US, Canada and LAC
• Act as a trusted advisor to regional commercial leaders on legal risk and strategic initiatives
• Provide strategic legal oversight for large environmental, infrastructure, engineering, energy and sustainability projects
• Lead and support the review, drafting and negotiation of complex commercial agreements
• Partner with Compliance, Risk and Insurance to promote risk management and controls
• Advise on US government contracting and compliance with legal obligations
• Build, lead, coach and develop a high‑performing regional Legal team
• Promote teamwork and consistent standards across the US, Canada and LAC
• Manage external counsel and other legal service providers
