Job summary

The International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP) seeks two law students for a summer internship or externship with our U.S. Litigation department. This is a remote internship with potential access to IRAP’s New York City office space.

We prioritize applications received by November 1, 2026; the 10-week commitment runs from June 7, 2027 to August 13, 2027, with onboarding June 7–9 in IRAP's New York office. Strong research, writing, and language skills are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Must be a rising 2L or 3L enrolled in a U.S. J.D. program.
• Strong research, writing, and analytical abilities.
• Excellent English communication skills; Arabic/Spanish a plus.
• Interest in refugee processing, immigration law, and human rights.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake interviews and identify client needs for litigation.
• Perform factual and legal research to support litigation.
• Draft memos and prepare litigation documents; cite-check materials.
• Participate in litigation efforts as appropriate.
