Job summary

Imubit seeks a Refining and Petrochemical Process Optimization Engineer to build AI models that optimize live refineries and petrochemical plants. You will scope opportunities, lead modeling work, and train customer teams to run closed-loop systems across remote and on-site deployments.

With a background in chemical engineering and APC, you will analyze time-series plant data, develop inferential and response models, and defend modeling decisions in design reviews while ensuring ongoing

Qualifications

• 4+ years in refining, petrochemicals or similar continuous-process industries.
• BSc in Chemical Engineering or equivalent; advanced degrees a plus.
• Experience with APC and optimization concepts (gains/constraints/objectives).
• Hands-on analysis of plant time-series data with large datasets.
• Client-facing experience to earn credibility with engineers and operators.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Scope optimization opportunities with customers, define objectives and value.
• Lead the technical side of projects; plan modeling work and schedules.
• Analyze plant time-series data to assess feasibility and data quality.
• Develop and evaluate AI models from soft sensors to closed-loop optimizers.
• Justify modeling choices in design reviews with client engineers.
• Commission models on site; train operators and monitor performance.
