Banner Health is seeking a Referral Specialist to support Banner-ordered referrals remotely. You will coordinate referrals for specialty services and diagnostics, ensuring the payor authorization information is complete and accurate.

The role acts as a bridge between patients, providers, and staff, with a focus on timely follow-up and closing care gaps. The position requires HIPAA knowledge, strong customer service skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of direct patient interaction/experience in medical, insurance, or healthcare.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and strong customer service focus.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities with effective verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate referral orders for continuation of treatment (specialty services, diagnostics).
• Serve as liaison between patients, providers and staff for referral needs.
• Provide clinical information for payor authorization and communication with facilities.
• Track referrals and follow up at 30/60/90 day intervals.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance requirements and regulations.
