Job summary

VSO invites an experienced Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform Consultant to design, deploy and operate AAP for a DoD customer's enterprise automation work. This is a hands-on technical role, fully remote in the USA.

You will develop playbooks and content, integrate with Git-based pipelines, manage RBAC, and help harden systems with STIG controls while documenting architecture and training staff.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) 2.x components.
• Proficient in writing playbooks, roles and custom collections; Jinja2, YAML, inventories.
• Strong Linux (RHEL 8/9) administration and security focus.
• Experience with GitLab/GitHub workflows, CI/CD and REST API integrations.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Bash scripting.
• AAP Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, configure and upgrade Ansible Automation Platform.
• Develop and maintain playbooks, roles and collections for provisioning and config mgmt.
• Build execution environments with ansible-builder and manage content in private hub; integrate with source control and CI/CD.
• Set up RBAC, organizations, teams, inventories and job templates in the automation controller.
• Automate security hardening and compliance across RHEL and Windows systems.
• Troubleshoot automation failures, tune performance, and document architecture and runbooks.
