Job summary

Terabase Energy is seeking an RTDS Engineer to deliver real-time Hardware-in-the-Loop simulations for utility-scale solar, BESS, and hybrid plants. You will develop, configure, validate, and maintain RTDS/RSCAD models used for plant controller validation, SCADA, EMS, and interconnection studies.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years with PSCAD, RSCAD, RTDS, and HIL setups, plus experience integrating control hardware and software into simulation environments. This role is based in California.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on PSCAD, RSCAD, RTDS experience for real-time studies.
• Experience setting up HIL environments for project validation.
• Ability to read electrical one-lines, interconnection requirements.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and documentation skills.
• Experience with inverter and BESS/renewable plant controls.

Responsibilities

• Develop and configure RTDS and RSCAD models for solar, BESS, and hybrid plants.
• Translate interconnection requirements into real-time simulations.
• Develop PSCAD models and align PSCAD with RTDS/RSCAD.
• Set up HIL environments with controllers, relays, and SCADA.
• Execute test plans and validate system performance.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering and Commissioning teams.
