Job summary

Strategic Employment in Santa Cruz, CA seeks a senior licensed geologist or engineer who will own and write closure reports. You will manage soil, groundwater and soil vapor projects, stamping CSMs/RAPs/soil management plans and closure requests, while overseeing in-house field activities from investigation to closure.

You will work with a hands-on principal geologist, engaging with RWQCB, DTSC and local agencies to ensure compliance and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• In-state professional engineer or geologist license required (CHG/CEG a plus).
• At least 10+ years in environmental investigation and remediation at a senior level.
• Strong technical writing and report quality are essential.
• Experience working with California agencies (Water Board, DTSC or LOP) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Write and stamp CSMs, RAPs, soil management plans and closure requests.
• Oversee field work and coordinate with RWQCB, DTSC and county LOPs.
• Collaborate directly with a hands-on principal geologist on reports.
