Job summary

FM seeks a Consultant Engineer I/II to perform hands-on site assessments of commercial properties, including roofs and hazards. You will travel to client facilities daily and operate from a home office, supported by FM's 200-year heritage.

Initial assignments focus on learning FM's standards, with progression to larger properties. Ideal candidates hold an engineering degree, strong communication, and the ability to work independently while managing time and priorities.

Qualifications

  • > Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • > Analytical, organizational, problem solving skills.
  • > Efficient time management ability with work independently.
  • > Proven technical capability including diverse knowledge of engineering principles.
  • > Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

  • > Perform hands-on site assessments of physical properties including roofs and various hazards.
  • > Conduct evaluations of site water supplies, dust hazards, chemical storage, and rack storage arrangements.
  • > Travel to client facilities daily; overnight travel ~30% of the time.
  • > Follow FM Engineering Standards and communicate recommendations clearly.
  • > Work independently from a home office while building client relationships.
