Job summary

Arizona Department of Housing, Office of Manufactured Housing Inspector, is seeking a qualified professional to inspect installation activity and enforce state and federal laws for manufactured homes, mobile homes, and factory-built buildings. The role includes field inspections, reporting, and collaboration with officials to uphold safety standards.

The position may offer remote work within Arizona and requires commuting to the Phoenix office hoteling space as needed.

Qualifications

Valid Arizona Driver’s License; ICC certification in an appropriate category within one year of hire.
Experience with general and manufactured housing/factory-built construction and installation methods.
Field experience as a construction superintendent/foreman or journeyman.

Responsibilities

Inspect installation activity and enforce state and federal laws for manufactured homes, mobile homes, and factory-built structures.
Schedule daily inspections and prepare reports reflecting inspection results.
Verify relocation qualifications and investigate consumer complaints related to installations.
Conduct habitability inspections to ensure compliance with applicable statutes and codes.
Mentor licensees and collaborate with building officials and design professionals as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
