Job summary

Horrocks is seeking an experienced Rail Project Engineer to design and lead rail projects from inception to completion, with strong CAD skills and knowledge of federal/state regulations.

The role involves coordinating multidisciplinary teams, maintaining client relationships, and ensuring project delivery, with occasional travel to project sites and industry events. PE licensed candidates with 4+ years in rail or related fields are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of rail, transit or site development experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Strong leadership, organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts for rail projects from inception to completion.
• Assist Project Manager to train junior staff in CAD and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Attend client meetings and strengthen client relationships.
• Coordinate with governing agencies across multiple states for regulatory compliance.
• Implement QA/QC procedures throughout project development.
• Travel occasionally to rail project sites and industry conferences.
