Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• 2 years of coding and/or billing experience.
• Licenses and Certifications: CPC, CCS-P, CMC, RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPMA.

Responsibilities

• Meet productivity and quality standards set by coding leadership.
• Review and validate documentation for accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding.
• Identify and mitigate compliance risks in moderate-complexity encounters.
• Support multiple specialties in a hybrid role as needed.
• Resolve coding-related edits including NCCI, modifiers, and payer requirements.
• Evaluate AI-generated coding outputs using clinical judgment.
• Collaborate with providers to clarify documentation for accurate code capture.
• Support denial prevention by partnering with billing and denial management teams.
• Maintain knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, payer policies, and regulatory updates.
• Participate in internal audits, QA initiatives, and AI workflow projects.
• May function in float capacity to maintain coverage.
