Job summary

Balchem is seeking a Research Scientist to join its R&D team, based in New Hampton, NY (Temp) and Montvale, NJ (Perm). The role focuses on developing new products, solving challenging technical problems, and driving projects from ideation to scale-up and commercialization.

Applicants should have a BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Material Science or Food Science with 4+ years of experience; or an MS with 4+ years or PhD with 1+ years.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Material Science or Food Science with 4+ years of experience.
• MS with 4+ years or PhD with 1+ year for senior level.
• Strong safety culture and ability to work in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on lab and pilot plant support for R&D functions.
• Develop innovative formulations and improve existing ones.
• Use DOE to explore design spaces.
• Document projects clearly and thoroughly.
• Lead projects and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
• Travel occasionally to production sites.
