Job summary

Balchem Corporation, based in Montvale, New Jersey, seeks a Senior Formulation Scientist for Flavors R&D to develop and scale-up new flavor products for food and beverage markets. You will lead cross-functional teams to set goals, drive innovation, and support commercialization across global strategies and customer needs.

The role requires extensive formulation experience in beverages and related foods, plus strong data analysis and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science with 10+ years experience or Master’s with 5+ years.
• Hands-on formulation, scale-up, and processing of beverages, frozen desserts, bakery fillings and confectionery.
• Experience in UHT/HTST processing preferred.
• Proven track record in formulation, specification creation, commercialization and new tech development.
• Expertise with flavors, stabilizers, acidifiers, sweeteners, functional ingredients.
• Strong written and verbal communication; teamwork across departments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and champion safety culture across all activities.
• Drive beverage, frozen dessert, bakery fillings and confection development and scale-up.
• Conceptualize, develop and commercialize new products and technologies.
• Translate consumer needs into science and technology strategies.
• Collaborate across Marketing, Sales, Operations, Quality, Regulatory and Leadership.
