Job summary

Quantinuum is seeking a Quantum Computer Deployment Physicist to lead installation, validation, and customer-ready deployment of Helios systems. Based in the US with remote options, you will work with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure successful deployments worldwide.

You will travel extensively and serve as the technical authority on quantum hardware performance during deployment, coordinating with experts across optics, cryogenics, and controls.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. required.
• 7+ years post-graduate experience in atomic physics, trapped-ion systems, quantum computing, or related field.
• Willingness to travel internationally for deployments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Helios systems for shipment, relocation, installation, bring-up, validation, and customer acceptance.
• Serve as deployment team's SME for atomic physics, trapped-ion operations, and qubit performance during critical activities.
• Own deployment success criteria related to quantum system performance and customer acceptance testing.
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues spanning quantum hardware, controls, software, optics, vacuum systems, electronics, and infrastructure.
• Lead technical decision-making during high-pressure integration windows at Quantinuum and customer sites.
• Participate in integration and validation of Helios systems prior to deployment.
• Provide remote support and on-site service for deployed Helios systems with global SME support.
• Train internal and customer personnel on deployment processes and validation workflows.
• Improve deployment plans, standard work, test plans, and validation processes.
• Partner with engineering, product, operations, and service teams to translate field lessons into future product improvements.
