Quantinuum seeks a Hardware Operations Engineer in Salt Lake City, UT to install, operate, and maintain the Helios quantum computer as part of a cross-functional team. You’ll prepare hardware, install and commission the system, and ensure high reliability through standard operations and documentation.

The ideal candidate has a PhD and at least 6 years of post-graduate experience, with strong hands-on skills in optical, mechanical, and electronic systems and programming. A U.S.

Qualifications

• PhD in Physics or related field is required.
• Minimum 6 years of post-graduate experience.
• U.S. Person required due to contractual obligations.
• Security rules restrict certain nationalities for this role.

Responsibilities

• Install, operate, and maintain the Helios quantum computer on site.
• Serve as the key technical expert for this system.
• Develop, execute, and document operations and maintenance procedures.
• Mentor colleagues on system operation and maintenance.
• Remotely operate other Quantinuum systems as part of a global team.
• Maintain focus on business success, technical progress, and professional interactions.
