Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Lead Specialist, Technical Architect (Quality) for ExamDeveloper. You will provide domain-level quality leadership, develop automation strategies, and mentor senior QA engineers across multiple Agile teams.

This is a remote US-based role focused on scalable quality practices and reliability. You will partner with engineering and product leadership, advance test coverage, and influence critical decisions affecting release confidence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of professional quality engineering, software testing, or test automation experience.
• 3+ years operating as a domain-level quality expert or SME across complex, distributed platforms.
• Demonstrated influence on quality practices, automation frameworks, or standards adopted across multiple teams.
• Deep experience with test automation strategy, tooling, and quality improvement.
• Experience operating in large product environments with multiple Agile teams, distributed QA teams, and high volumes of testing and release-readiness decisions.

Responsibilities

• Set strategic direction for the ExamDeveloper quality system and release confidence across the domain.
• Partner with Product Architect and Engineering leadership to determine long-term automation and quality strategy.
• Drive improvements to testing automation to be more automated, efficient, and aligned to business risk.
• Establish quality metrics informing decision-making, including automation health and release readiness.
• Mentor and coach senior quality engineers and build quality capability across teams.
• Represent quality in leadership discussions and with stakeholders when domain-level judgment is required.
• Review critical QA work and provide technical oversight of QA practices and artifacts.
