Job summary

The Boyce Research Group at the University of California Berkeley School of Public Health seeks a Qualitative Research Manager to lead qualitative work across multiple projects on LGBTQ+ and marginalized youth. Supervising a small team, you will manage IRB processes, data collection, and manuscript development in collaboration with partners and funders.

You will contribute to grant proposals, build partnerships, and ensure timely delivery of research outputs while maintaining trauma-informed,

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of public health research, equity frameworks, and data collection.
  • Expertise in qualitative methodologies and interviews with diverse populations.
  • Ability to develop publishable manuscripts from public health results.
  • Ability to engage youth and community voices in research respectfully.
  • Experience with LGBTQ+ youth, racial/ethnic minoritized youth, and survivors is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manages at least one research-practice partnership and leads weekly meetings.
  • Tracks and ensures timely completion of deliverables.
  • Analyzes data using rigorous methods and presents findings to teams and audiences.
  • Plans qualitative data collection, survey instrument design, and sampling procedures.
  • Drafts academic manuscripts and funder-facing materials for dissemination.
