Job summary

The Boyce Research Group at the University of California Berkeley School of Public Health seeks a Qualitative Research Manager to lead the qualitative components of multiple projects focused on LGBTQ+, racial/ethnic minoritized youth and other marginalized groups. Responsibilities include IRB protocol development, instrument design, and trauma‑informed data collection.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of public health research theories and frameworks around health equity.
• Experience implementing qualitative methodologies and interviews.
• Ability to develop publishable manuscripts from research results.
• Experience developing and managing research protocols for IRB submissions.

Responsibilities

• Manage at least one research-practice partnership and lead weekly partner meetings.
• Track and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
• Analyze data and interpret results with rigorous methods.
• Design qualitative data collection instruments and sampling procedures.
• Draft manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals and funder-facing products.
• Facilitate Youth Research Advisory Board and engage diverse youth voices.
