Job summary

SANS Institute is seeking a Quality Control Tester to support our Quality team on a 12-month contract engagement. This role focuses on manually testing OnDemand course content, learning platforms, and media assets to ensure a high-quality student experience.

The contractor will work remotely, collaborate with stakeholders, and document findings with clear test reports while aligning with project milestones and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience performing manual quality assurance testing and QA reviews.
• Strong attention to detail with ability to document issues clearly.
• Experience following documented procedures, test plans, and quality standards.
• Relevant experience in QA, technical support, content review, education tech, or related field.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a remote environment.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality work within timelines.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review functional, content, and technical specifications.
• Create detailed test cases and test scripts (positive, negative, edge cases).
• Perform manual testing across platforms, browsers, devices, environments.
• Validate usability, accessibility, media quality, and performance.
• Log defects with clear reproduction steps and severity levels.
• Perform regression and retesting activities.
• Ensure changes do not break existing functionality.
• Document findings and provide detailed test reports.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to meet project objectives.
• Communicate progress, risks, and recommendations.
