Job summary

CAI is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to elevate software quality across government projects. This remote, full-time contract role may include occasional onsite work in Chicago, IL.

You will design and execute comprehensive test strategies, drive automation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and quality. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of QA experience, strong automation skills (Selenium/Playwright), API testing expertise, and familiarity with SDLC

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in CS/IS.
• 5+ years QA or software testing, government/public sector preferred.
• Experience with manual and automated testing methodologies.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum and Waterfall SDLC.
• Experience with API testing and defect tracking.

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, cases, and scripts across functional, regression, integration, UAT, and smoke testing.
• Identify, document, and track defects using Jira or ServiceNow; work with dev teams for resolution.
• Lead QA efforts for software releases, including manual and automated testing.
• Support UAT by coordinating sessions, documenting results, and obtaining sign-off.
• Ensure systems meet business requirements, security standards, and accessibility standards (Section 508/WCAG).
• Develop and maintain test automation frameworks using Selenium or Playwright etc.
• Perform API testing and validate data integrity across integrated systems.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives.
• Prepare QA status reports, defect analysis, and test summaries.
