Job summary

CAI is seeking a QA/Disaster Recovery Test Engineer to execute test plans for a state government hosting environment in AWS GovCloud. This remote, full-time role focuses on validating disaster-recovery failover and data integrity across two GovCloud regions, with ownership of DR test cycles during initial build and ongoing semi-annual cycles.

The position requires 3+ years in QA/testing in cloud environments, hands-on GovCloud experience, and U.S. citizenship.

Qualifications

3+ years of QA or test engineering experience in cloud environments.
Hands-on AWS GovCloud (US) experience — not commercial AWS alone.
Experience validating disaster-recovery failover against defined RPO/RTO targets.
Must be a U.S. citizen — this role has hands-on-keyboard access to the GovCloud environment.
Preferred: data validation/reconciliation at scale (checksums, referential integrity).
Preferred: HIPAA-regulated or PHI-scale environments.
Preferred: AWS certification.

Responsibilities

Execute test plans validating disaster-recovery failover across two GovCloud regions against defined recovery-point and recovery-time objectives.
Lead recurring DR test cycles, documenting results and tracking remediation items to closure.
Validate data integrity after failover or migration events — checksums, referential integrity, and dashboard outputs.
Support cutover rehearsals during transition, including rollback-procedure validation.
Partner with DevOps/SRE on test environment setup.
